Our craftsmanship, our pride

Personal service, generation after generation

Today, two generations are joining forces at Vlamco to personally and efficiently help each customer. For example, Cor and his son Jan are responsible for the sales. The finishing touches and quality inspection are done by Cor's wife Ann and daughter Anne. Furthermore, all family members assist in the administration, bookkeeping and maintenance if necessary. In addition, there are four production operators working with us.
Thanks to our many years of expertise, we develop and produce the right candle wick for every possible candle. In this way we offer every candle maker the right support and we contribute to an end product that perfectly meets all wishes. Thanks to our pursuit of perfection, we have built up a lot of trust with a wide customer base at home and abroad. Vlamco therefore focuses its production on both national and international candle manufacturers and, in addition to the professional market, also serves traditional candle makers. We like to make a difference with our customer focus and eye for service.

1980

Cor Genevasen started as a technician at Polypit. This manufacturer of candle wicks was a follow-up to Spaas Cotton, which in turn arose from a wick division of the established candle manufacturer Spaas Kaarsen. In the beginning of the 80's a fire broke out at Spaas Kaarsen and the entire factory was reduced to ashes. Huge investments were required to build up a new candle production facility.

1987

In the meantime, Cor has been working at Polypit for seven years. The braiding machines date from the period 1947-1950, the weaving machines are from 1978. There is a growing need for renewal of the outdated machinery. However, that is not an option for Polypit. Cor takes the plunge and makes a proposal to take production into his own hands. An agreement was quickly reached and the foundation for Vlamco was laid. A large part of the machine park soon received an update.

1993

Vlamco's evolution has been positive since its foundation. Turnover is increasing and the machines are becoming more and more automated over time. In the course of time, PLC control and frequency-controlled motors will also be introduced. The company vision focuses on striving for quality instead of opting for mass production. Initially, the number of employees will be limited. Several recruitments follow over the years.

2002

The economy is in a recession, which slows down our planned investments. In retrospect, this turned out to be a good decision, because in 2008 the banking crisis puts the global economy on hold completely. A few years later, we slowly but surely pick up the thread again. Meanwhile, the second generation of Genevasen is also entering the company.

2022

Vlamco is steadily making positive and important steps in its product development and the evolution of production. Finding the solution to the challenges that our customers pose to us is always central to our operations. This means that in 2022 we will have reached a high quality level. We can boast of a growing international clientele. This shows appreciation for our product knowledge, high-quality products, service orientation and personal approach.

At Vlamco we distinguish ourselves in the market because we continue until we can offer the perfect answer to meet the wishes of our customers. In addition to a number of standard products, we also offer all candle makers' supplies.
A candle flame never stands still. And neither does Vlamco. We are constantly evolving and innovating. For example, our wicks with a special treatment are suitable for an exceptionally large number of raw materials and blends. Its combustion is extremely environmentally friendly due to the efficiency of the highest possible flame temperature. In other words: the calorific value of the raw material is used to the maximum.
